Maintenance des systèmes solaires thermiques
Solar thermal systems require regular maintenance to remain efficient and reliable.
Over time, the heat transfer fluid (glycol) breaks down due to high operating temperatures, reducing system performance and potentially causing damage to components.
Our servicing restores the system to optimal condition, ensuring it continues to operate efficiently.
What we do
We carry out a full service including:
• Inspection of the solar circuit and key components
• Drain-down of the system
• Flushing and cleaning of the circuit
• Replacement of degraded glycol with new heat transfer fluid
• Re-pressurisation and system checks
Why maintenance is important
As glycol degrades, it can:
• lose its thermal efficiency
• become acidic
• form deposits within the system
This can lead to:
• reduced heat output
• poor circulation
• increased wear on pumps and components
Regular maintenance prevents these issues and keeps the system working properly.
Recommended maintenance
Solar thermal systems should typically be serviced every 3–5 years, depending on usage and system condition.
In some cases, more frequent checks may be required if the system has been operating at high temperatures.
Benefits
• Improved system efficiency
• Better heat transfer
• Protection of pumps and components
• Extended lifespan of the system
• Reliable hot water production
“Replacing degraded fluid and cleaning the system keeps your solar thermal working efficiently.”
